I have a Dell XPS Studio 8000 desktop still under warranty and I'm getting ready to upgrade some components:?
It came from the factory with an Intel Core i7-860 and the nVidia GeForce GTS 240..Here're the upgrades I'm installing this weekend, all parts came from newegg.com:
I'm replacing the stock CPU heatsink with a Thermaltake Universal CPU Cooler. The GeForce GTS 240 is out and I'm replacing it with a Gigabyte GeForce GTS 450..I replaced the stock 350w PSU with an OCZ 700w modular PSU long ago..I also added a bluetooth wireless card and a TV tuner card a while back. So, could anyone comment on any problems they think I may have with size issues or driver's?? This Thermaltake CPU cooler is one of the hottest looking I've ever seen.
Well it is no longer under warranty you voided it with the first upgrade. If the CPU cooler fits in the case then your good to go you have everything else covered. You can get the drivers for the GPU from the nvidia website.
